Youtube Deliveries Behaviour

In this article, we explain how the platform behaves when a delivery is requested to Youtube Music and/or Youtube Content ID.

Introduction

In order to fulfil the key component of theContent Commitment to YouTube, the behaviour for YouTube Music (YOUA) and YouTube Content ID (YOUC) feeds has been improved, resulting in the following characteristics. 

 

Deliveries

It is not possible to deliver to YouTube Audio Content ID without also delivering to YouTube Music. However, the opposite (delivering only to Youtube Music) is possible. Therefore, if YouTube Audio Content ID is selected, the platform will auto select Youtube Music as well.

Takedowns

The existence of assets in Youtube Content ID should have a matching asset in Youtube Music.In order to fulfil this requirement but provide further flexibility to end-users, the system allows the following actions:

  • It is possible to request takedowns to YouTube Content ID without generating a takedown to YouTube Music. This is in order to allow end-users to carry out takedowns only to Youtube Content ID if they decide to leave their content in Youtube Music.

  • Takedowns to Youtube Music will continue to trigger a simultaneous takedown to Youtube Content ID if deliveries were processed to both channels.

 

Updates

To ensure that all requirements from YouTube are met, updates to Youtube Music now originate also an update to Youtube Content ID.
