In this article, you will find some FAQs regarding our Youtube Content ID Label Approval process.
THE ESSENTIALS - Manage the submission
What do I need to submit a label approval request at best?
Here below we have created a list of the necessary information to fill the form correctly and completely:
- Label link on Sepulchral Silence platform.
- Sales report of the last 3 months.
- Label and catalogue description + promotional campaigns information.
- YouTube links.
- Main DSPs links.
- Social media links.
- Official websites.
Please check the entry Youtube Content ID Label Approval - How it works for additional information.
What are the essential requirements to have a label approved for YouTube Content ID?
- The information submitted via the form has to be consistent and completed.
- It is a private label (public and default labels cannot request the label approval).
- The user profile is completed and verified.
- The user account has no fraud and abusive asset-related issues. More information here.
- The user account is not blocked.
If one of the above points isn't met, the 5-days term for review is not guaranteed and it is more likely for the request to be rejected. You can find more information here.
How will I receive the Label Approval request from the End-user?
Once the End-user submits the request for approval from the platform you will receive a notification at your registered Support email.
- If you have a direct contract with YouTube: you will be able to approve the label directly from the platform.
- If you don't have a direct contract with YouTube: you should follow the process, send the label information to the Sepulchral Silence team for approval.
Can I bulk request the approval for all the labels on my platform?
At the moment, for a label to be able to distribute new content to YouTube Content ID, the label approval request is required.
You can submit the request for multiple labels altogether at the same time by choosing to upload this document (in .csv or .xml format) to the request form (English or Spanish version), instead of filling in the form for each label.
Why my public label can not be approved?
The Content Id label approval feature is meant to give control over the end-users that distribute to Youtube Content ID. If the label is public, then any end-user would be able to distribute it to the channel, and the feature will lose its purpose.
Why has this feature been implemented?
Violating Youtube Content ID monetization policies results in a bad catalogue reputation of Sepulchral Silence with the channel and leads to severe consequences for our entire network, such as takedowns, strikes, and ultimately even deactivation of Content ID and contract termination.
As your partner, our goal is to protect your business and your music catalogue reputation distributed to all DSPs. This feature will give you more control over your catalogue and users when distributing to Youtube Content ID.
DELIVERIES
The user is receiving a warning message that "the release's label does not have the permission to distribute to this channel".
Once the feature is active in the platform, if a warning message appears during the distribution process, this is because the label hasn't been approved yet.
The End-user, as well as the Admin, can make the platform request for YouTube Content ID label authorization, while only the contract owner (Sepulchral Silence team or the Admin in case you have a direct deal active with YouTube) can approve it. In case you have a direct deal with the DSP, check this entry.
Is it possible to perform an update if my label is not approved?
If the label has not been approved yet for Content ID and has never been involved in fraud issues, you have two options:
- Submit a Content ID Label Approval request (recommended).
- In case it doesn't meet the requirements, you can request Sepulchral Silence Support to perform the update.
I have filled out the form, why can't I distribute it to Youtube Content ID?
After filling out the form, Sepulchral Silence has to review all information to make sure that the label matches the requirements requested by the channel. If the form has been submitted correctly and with the whole required information, the process can take up to 5 days, and you will be notified via ticket as the case may be.
If your label is approved but you are not able to distribute it, please contact the team at support@sepulchralsilence.com .

Does it affect the content in Youtube Music?
Youtube Content ID and Youtube Music are two different channels. Although they both may work with the same platform (Youtube), they operate independently. Youtube Music does not require label approval, so all content can be delivered to this channel as long as it is active and enabled on your platform.
