It can happen that you, or your users, want to distribute a single that, after the distribution, will be part of a new whole album. Here we explain to you how to manage it from your platform.
Distributing the single
If you want to publish some songs before the whole album launch as a single format, you must distribute them one by one, separately. In order to do that follow these steps:
- From the Catalog section, click on the 'Create a release' button and define its format through tab 1. Info Album in the "Album format" section.
- Select "single" format and go on with the distribution process.
- Each single/EP/album is treated as a unique product with its own UPC code.
Including the single in a new album
If after distributing your single, you want to distribute a whole album including it, you will have to create a new release separately. There's no other way to group them than to create a new release and we tell you how:
- From the Catalog section, click on the 'Create a release' button and define its format through tab 1. Info Album in the "Album format" section.
- Select the "album" format and go on with the distribution process.
- Use the same tracks already distributed (as singles) by clicking on the "from your catalog" button (to maintain the same ISRC codes), and add the new ones by clicking on the "from your computer" button.
- Finally, you will have the singles distributed on one side and the whole album separately distributed on another. You can also then takedown the singles if you prefer so.
Remember
- To distribute a single: Title, artist name and version must be the same on the album and track levels.
