Tab 2. Licenses of a release is used to define the sale prices, the date of departure, the type of license, the territories of distribution and the owner of the work, and its exploitation rights.
Price Category
A price category from the four offered by the platform must be chosen. Such a choice does not ensure an identical price in all channels, since each channel has the right to determine the final price of a product, depending on each territory and the value of each currency.
Dates
Depending on the date indicated in this section, the album will be published on the channels sooner or later. If the album is distributed before the date indicated, it will not be released until the day of distribution arrives. If the album is released after the release date, it will be released directly within 2-15 business days from the time of release.
The original release date can be selected from 1900 onwards. And it has to be identical or prior to the digital release date.
Type of License
End-Users can choose between two main types of licenses: Copyright or Creative Commons. Copyright guarantees comprehensive protection of the intellectual property of the rights owner, while Creative Commons has various types of licenses depending on different types of interests.
License and publishing rights owners
- License Owner: The owner of the Copyright. Generally, it is the author of the work.
- Publication rights owner: The owner of the recording or the owner of the Publication rights. Usually, it's the producer or the record label.
In the case of bands or sets in which the rights are shared, the name of that group can be indicated in the two cases indicated above or the names of the different members separated by commas.
Territories
If you do not have the publication rights for all the territories or you are not interested in publishing in all of them, it is possible to choose the desired territories.
