In the Catalog > Labels tab, a full list of all the Admin (from Admin account) or End User's (from End User's account) labels can be found.
Create a new label
The "Create a New Label" button allows End Users or Administrators to create a new label in their account. Clicking this button will open a page pop-up where the label name can be added. Once added, the user will be redirected to the Label edition page after clicking the Create Label button.
Search box
Through the search box, it is possible to search for specific labels by using the label name.
Labels table
The labels table displays the following information:
- Label name.
- Public Label (Yes/Not).
- Default Label (Yes/Not).
The bin icon on the right side of the release allows the End User or Administrator to delete the label. It is only possible to delete a label if it has never been used.
By clicking on the label's title, the user will be redirected to the edition page.
FAQ
Can we create more than one label with the same name?
Yes, the platform allows so. However, this is not recommended since there may be issues during the distribution process as well as with the royalties recollection process.
What happens after editing a label's name?
When the name of a label is changed on the edit page, it is also automatically modified in all the releases that contain the label that has been edited.
Are the labels' edits displayed automatically in all channels?
For any change after distribution to be displayed in channels, another delivery has to be done. To perform this operation, you have to request an update.
What can be edited in a label?
- Label info
-
Check if the label is public, default or private.
-
Check the address owner of the label name.
-
Add a description and links to its URL, Soundcloud, Facebook, Twitter and Youtube User.
-
- Appears on: Check the releases that are using (or have used) this label.
- Permissions: Check the DSPs' access' status.
How do we turn a label "Public"?
-
Go to "Catalogue > Labels" and click on the specific label.
-
Check the box "Public label" and select "Save".
Who can turn a label "Public"?
Only the admin can turn the use of a label to "Public". End-users don't have this option.
What happens once a label is "Public"?
All the end-users of your platform will have access to the use of this label. It is not recommended since there may be issues during the distribution process as well as with the royalties recollection process.
How do we turn a label from "Public" to "Private"?
If the label isn't being used:
-
Go to "Catalogue > Labels".
-
Uncheck the box "Public label" and select "Save".
If the label is being used:
-
Go to the releases that are using the label ("Catalogue" > "Labels" > "Appears on").
-
Change the label for a new one so that the old one is not used anymore (the creation of a new label may be required to replace the old one).
-
Once the tab "Appears on" of the label that must be turned to private again is empty go to "Label info", uncheck the box "Public label" and select "Save".
How do we delete a label?
If the label hasn't been used in a distributed release yet:
-
Go to "Catalogue > Labels" and click on the specific label.
-
Select "Delete label" and "Aceptar".
If the label has been used in one or more releases that have been distributed previously, it may not be removed.
-
Can a label be eliminated if the release has been taken down? No, once they've been used they can not be removed from the platform.
-
What if no releases are shown in "Appears on" as if the label hasn't been used but it's not possible to delete it? When this happens, it means that the label has been previously used in a release but, at some point, it has been replaced or removed from the release. Although the original release may have a new label, the label we're willing to remove has already been used so it will remain on the platform.
-
How can we check if a label has been used before if there are no releases related? Only the Tech team can grant this information. In these cases, the ticket can be escalated to their view so that they confirm that information and rule out any incidences so that the Support team can give a calibrated answer.
